Canelo Alvarez and Tony Bellew appear in the brand new trailer for Creed 3 alongside superstar Micha

Canelo Alvarez will make his way to the silver screen of Hollywood as he will star in the latest addition to the Creed Series lead by Michael B Jordan. Along with Canelo, former cruiserweight champion, Tony Bellew will also reprise his role from the first film.

Alvarez had announced before his trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin that he would be starring in the latest addition of the film franchise. To this effect, Jordan even joined him in the ring before the fight. While his role has not yet been disclosed, he finds a brief appearance in the first trailer for the film.

Alvarez appears in the trailer, standing next to the family of Adonis Creed, in front of what seems to be like a fight promotion poster. He is accompanied by his real-life wife, Fernanda Gomez, playing the same role on the reel.

Apart from Alvarez, the second most noticeable face is that of Bellew. Bellew had a prominent role in the first film of the series, where his character, “Pretty” Ricky Conlan looks for a money-fight to call it a career. In this he finds the estranged son of Apollo Creed, Adonis to be the perfect match.

What’s noteworthy is that it’s made clear from a poster in the same trailer, that Conlan (Like most Boxers) came out of retirement to face the son of Apollo for a second time. The film will be the first in the Rocky Franchise to not star Sylvester Stallone as Rocky, who said previously that the character retired after the second film in the sequel series.

The movie is set to be released on the 3rd of March in 2023.

Is Canelo Alvarez the only world champion boxer to appear in the Creed Film Franchise?

The Rocky franchise has always served a launching pad for aspiring combat sports athletes to make a small splash in the film industry. This tradition is carried on by the Creed Film Series as well.

The first film stars 3 real life boxers, including Gabe Rosado as one of Donnie’s first opponents. Apart from the aforementioned Bellew, the film also features another boxing world champion, the undefeated Andre Ward.

Ward reprises his role in the second film, and goes from being the one who humbles the young Creed to the one being humbled. The film also stars Florian Munteanu, a Romanian boxer as the prime antagonist, Viktor Drago, the sun of Ivan Drago, who caused the in-ting death of Apollo Creed.
