Marcus Mariota wife Kiyomi Cook is a former Father Ryan High School soccer coach. Marcus married Kiyomi in July 2021 after dating for six years.

Marcus is an American football quarterback from Honolulu, Hawaii. He plays for Atlanta Falcons in the NFL.

Mariota won the Heisman Trophy as a junior in 2014. He made history as the first Hawaii athlete and the University of Oregon player to win the title.

The Tennessee Titans drafted him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Mariota and the Titans agreed to a four-year, $24,213,974 contract. The deal included a $24.2 million guaranteed signing bonus worth $15.9 million.

The Honolulu born agreed to a two-year, $17.6 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on March 25, 2020. Similarly, he signed a two-year, $18.75 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons on March 21, 2022.

Marcus Mariota spouse Kiyomi Cook played soccer during college. Kiyomi coached soccer between 2015 and 2020.

Cook was born in Gresham, Oregon, to Hawaiian parents Carol and Karl Cook. 

Kiyomi began playing soccer as a young child. According to the University of Oregon’s athletics department, she played soccer at Sam Barlow High School, where she was named first-team all-conference and second-team all-state in 2008.

She has an elder brother named Kevin and a sister named Kerri. 

Kevin spent a year studying at the University of San Diego. He earned a civil engineering degree in 2012 and coached for Seattle United’s soccer team.

Similarly, Kerri studied nursing at Middle Tennessee State University.

Cook completed her Master’s degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from Lipscomb University between 2017 and 2017. In addition, she has an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by American Red Cross. 

Moreover, she is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist issued by National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Kiyomi Played Soccer At The University Of Oregon

As a fresher, Mrs. Mariota played soccer for the University of Oregon in 2011. She played in 15 games, starting in 13 of them. However, she would miss the final five games due to an injury.

Similarly, she continued her contribution for the Ducks in six matches, a starter in two in 2012 as a Sophomore. Likewise, as a junior, she started in all 19 games of the season in 2013. 

Finally, she played 510 minutes and participated in 15 games, starting in three in her final years as a senior. She scored her first-career goal in a win over Milwaukee in 2014.

Cook has a decent college career, as she was on teams that won six Oregon State Cup Championships. She won three with youth club Eastside United and three consecutive with THUSC Neon, coached by Tom Atencio. 

Mrs. Mariota advanced twice to the quarterfinals and once to the USYSA Far West Club Championships semifinals. 

Kiyomi also enjoyed a very successful ODP career with the Oregon ’93 girls’ team, where she was selected to the Region IV ODP team in 2009. In addition, she was invited to the 2007 National ID2 Camp.

Cook Started Her Career In 2015

According to her LinkedIn profile, Kiyomi worked as a soccer coach after her playing career. 

She started her career as an Intern at Student Sports in May 2015. Cook worked there until September 2016. 

Cook moved from Oregon to Tennessee to start her career as a soccer coach.

Kiyomi took her skills as a player to teach the youngsters at the University School of Nashville. In addition, she worked as a Soccer Coach between September 2015 and December 2019. 

She also took the head coach role at Father Ryan High School in June 2016 and worked there for over four years until December 2020.

Kiyomi Engages In Charitable Activities

Cook has contributed to the Nashville neighborhood for a while. She participated in a Nashville Habitat for Humanity construction in 2016 alongside Mariota and his parents, Alana and Toa Mariota. 

According to The Tennessean, they collaborated to construct a house in the Ewing Park neighborhood for Mohammed Berema, Khadija Aldom, and their seven children.

Mariota, his partner, and his family were joined by several other volunteers, that included four other Heisman Trophy winners: Tim Brown, Mark Ingram, George Rogers, and Billy Sims.

The professional football player and his life partner moved in together in 2015. Mariota claimed that the two had been living together in an interview with Tennessee.

QB Marcus bought a luxury penthouse in Nashville for over a million. His 1,890-square-foot, $1.05 million penthouse is perched atop the Gulch Condominiums in downtown Nashville, a luxurious skyscraper with floor-to-ceiling windows.

They got married on Thursday, July 1, 2021, in Oahu. 

Mariota proposed to Kiyomi on the Oregon campus in the summer of 2021. 

Logan Ryan, Mariota’s former teammate from their time together with the Tennessee Titans, shared pictures of the newlyweds and the wedding ceremony on his Instagram page.
