Quarterback Russell Wilson and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had great success in the decade they spent together with the team.

Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett was also asked to share his thoughts on “wristband-gate” after both Carroll and Wilson made headlines. He was specifically asked why the quarterback was now wearing a wristband in Week Eight against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hackett said:

“Like we’ve said from the very beginning, we’ve been looking at everything. And kind of thinking of anything we can do to help our process, help our offense. Do whatever we have to do. Whether (the wristband) is going to be the reason why we win or lose a game, looking back at the Jacksonville game, I don’t know."

He added:

"But we just always want to evaluate everything and try to find a way to get better. If that’s going to help us get better, then we want to do it."

Why Did Russell Wilson Leave the Seahawks?

People in the Seattle Seahawks' front office, coaching staff, and players along with those close to the quarterback say the dysfunctional situation shifted toward its conclusion as the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback wanted out of Seattle.

According to a report by ESPN, the quarterback wanted out, and Carroll and the franchise were holding him back. Also, as the team started doubting his play, the they lost trust in Russell Wilson, just as he had lost trust in the team.

Doug Baldwin, a teammate of Wilson's for seven seasons with the Seahawks, commented that the breakup was bound to happen:

"From my vantage point, the divorce was inevitable and was many years in the making. The reasons are multiple, but ultimately, I think it comes down to a difference of pursuits."

In the end, the Seahawks traded their longtime quarterback to the Denver Broncos this offseason. The Broncos currently sit with a 3 -5 record as the Seahawks have a 6 - 3 record, leading the NFC West division.
